Abstract:
The paper presents a location-based approach to transmission mode selection and uplink resource allocation for device-to-device (D2D) underlay in frequency reuse-1 (FRF-1) cellular system. A location-based transmission mode selection mechanism is proposed, where decisions on transmission mode are based on the transmit power criterion. The mode selection procedure is strongly intertwined with proper D2D resource allocation. In this paper a long-term location-based uplink resource allocation scheme is proposed. Proposed solutions are investigated by the means of system level simulations in a multi-cell frequency reuse-1 cellular network.
