Abstract:
Relaying is seen as a cost-effective solution to increase the coverage and improve the capacity for LTE-A networks. However, the deployment of relays generates new interference scenarios that need to be addressed. In addition, the resource sharing among the different links to support the relaying operation is an important challenge to make the most of the potential benefits of relay deployments. This paper focuses on Type 1 half-duplex inband relaying. We propose an algorithm to adapt the resource distribution among direct and backhaul links dynamically which is able to work efficiently in heterogeneous load conditions. We also present a load balancing algorithm to keep the load distribution in balance, switching some users from congested nodes to non-congested nodes.
