Abstract:
The structure of double-side direct water cooling power module and experimental study on thermal performance of the structure are presented in this paper. To meet the continuing demand for smaller and electrically efficient inverter, the authors have developed inverter using double-side direct water cooling power module structure. To evaluate the thermal performance of the new structure, thermal resistance, thermal cycling and power cycling tests were performed. Test results indicate that the power module has enough thermal performance to be used in automotive field. Finally, example of inverter using the double-side direct-cooling power module is presented.
