Abstract:
For optimizing the geometry and layout of power busbars it is indispensable to analyze in detail the transient electromagnetic field distribution inside and outside the busbars. The correct computation of these fields requires special boundary and interface conditions. In our work we developed a methodology to calculate the electromagnetic behavior even for complex structures with more than two contacts and with two or more electrically separated components of the busbar aggregate. A central concept is the generalized inductance matrix which can be extracted from the continuous-field model to optimize the shape of the busbars.
