Abstract:
Capillary Loops (CPL, LHP and Thermosiphon Loop) can be used for passive cooling of high power electronics. The present paper describes the recent advances in the field of high heat flux evaporator technology (up to 100 W/cm2) applied to IGBT modules cooling that dissipate several kilowatts Several application cases permit to demonstrate the benefits of such a passive system on existing and competing cooling systems in terms of junction temperature and life time.
