Abstract:
In this paper, a novel interleaved space vector modulation (SVM) scheme for a symmetrical six-phase drive is presented. It’s capable of reducing current distortions and machine vibrations caused by the switching behavior of inverters. The six-phase machine is composed of two symmetrical three-phase winding sets, spatially shifted by 60 electrical degrees and fed by two independent three-phase inverters with a common DC-link. To validate the proposed modulation technique, a series of experiments are carried out. According to the results, the efficiency improvement is significant compared to the traditional SVM and there is a notable reduction in vibration.
