Abstract:
In this paper the application conveying is analyzed in detail to derive the requirements in the intralogistics industry. Technically high torque density and high overload capability are the most decisive requirements, which were met by the external rotor concept in combination with a vernier motor. Furthermore the external rotor concept has advantages regarding mechanical design. All advantages are explained in detail and the proposed motor is compared to conventional machine designs with the FE-method. The FEM-simulations are verified by measument results.
