Abstract:
The paper proposes an energy storage system (ESS) with multiple energy storage devices such as a LiB and an EDLC for reducing the cost. The ESS is integrated into a power grid to compensate for the power fluctuation from renewable energy systems. The ESS which combines two types of energy devices is effective for low-cost and small size of the storage system. The proposed control method divides the amplitude of the compensation power compensation command into the LiB and the EDLC. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control method effectively compensated for the power fluctuation from the renewable energy system.
