Abstract:
An active filter concept to reduce disturbances of the mains is presented and converters for this purpose are described. The input voltage is processed with AC/AC converter structures based on different buck, boost and buck-boost topologies. The system can be used as active filters for sensitive loads, but can also be used to produce disturbances superimposed on a harmonic mains voltage for test systems. The control is done by a combination of a feedforward and a feed-back control. The whole system is explained, the converter topologies are described, the control laws are deduced, and dimensioning hints are given.
