IGBT module switching losses are typically calculated based on datasheet values instead of employing a direct measurement method on components of the real system. These calculated losses may be far away from the module’s losses in the real system. By applying an experimental method that drives IGBT modules using the system’s driver board and busbar, losses can be derived with little effort utilizing the real system in its operating environment.
