Abstract:
In modern communication systems high bandwidths are needed to achieve data rates up to hundreds of Gbit/s. Modern arbitrary waveform generators (AWG) use multiple time-interleaved digital-analog converters (DAC) in one channel to obtain a high sampling rate. Instead of increasing the numbers of DACs per channel or increasing the sampling rate of a single DAC, this paper presents an arbitrary waveform generator for wideband channel measurements with an analog bandwidth of 40 GHz by multiplexing two 20 GHz AWGs channels in the frequency domain.
