Abstract:
A dual three phase three level inverter (2 x 27 kW; input 600 VDC; output 2 x 400 VAC 45 Arms) has been realized with the newest generation of SiCMOSFETs, a space saving embedding technology of power semiconductors, an optimized air cooling concept and a novel DC link configuration. The air cooled converter system has a high power density of 17,2 kW/l combined with an efficiency of 99,2 %. With the new inverter design the volume could be reduced by a factor of six in comparison to a standard high performance Si-based converter.
