Abstract:
The study presents a miniaturized 5-kW DC/DC converter with LLC topology using SiC metal-oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs). The converter adopts a three-phase configuration and includes two sets of magnetic transformers that function differently. One set is used for isolation while the other set equalizes peak currents flowing in each phase. Additionally, SiC MOSFETs allow a switching frequency corresponding to 160 kHz and a maximum input voltage of 800 V. The proposed configuration results in a power supply weighing 1.55 kg with a power conversion efficiency of 98.1% at an operating power of 5 kW.
