Abstract:
This paper presents a new FPGA based control scheme for high speed drives which combines the advantages of space vector modulation, field oriented control and synchronous, natural-sampling PWM without drawbacks. A digital tracking loop delivers a quasi-continuous commutation signal and VHDL based signal processing replaces analog devices. The switching frequency can be reduced to increase efficiency due to lower current distortions without any subharmonics.
