Abstract:
Digital control of active resistance emulation in three phase rectifiers with current injection is presented in this paper. Active resistance emulation is realized as boost converter with input connected to the current injection circuit and its output used to recuperate the power back to the output of the rectifier. The main motivation for application of active resistance emulation in current injection circuit is to increase system efficiency, while keeping optimal harmonic quality of input (phase) currents. In the focus of this paper is automatic adjustment of emulated resistance for different loads. Paper presents simple, but robust realization, based on the output current measurement and closed-loop control of the current that is injected at three-phase diode rectifier inputs. Proposed concept is experimentally verified on 500 W laboratory prototype.
