Abstract:
Growing population and economy of this planet require us to build up a sustainable society. In electric power conversion, more energy- and resource-saving, efficient systems must be developed. Power devices are the key for efficient power electronic systems. In this paper, 1200V All-SiC modules with SiC trench gate MOSFET are introduced, then application of the All-SiC modules is demonstrated such as a 1MW 3-phase PV inverter and a high performance compact fully-closed IP6X inverter. The paper also explains Hybrid-SiC modules with voltage classes of 1700V and 3300V, together with an application example for a general purpose inverter. The described technologies increase the output power density, reduce the consumption of natural resources, and increase the efficiency of electric systems.
