Abstract:
A new approach for calculating the reference current of an active power filter device, to achieve load compensation on a distribution grid integrated with renewable energy is proposed. The control strategy relies on model predictive control theory and properties of sine waves in terms of differential equations, in order to compensate the harmonic distortion present on the distribution grid to satisfactory levels in voltages and currents simultaneously.
