Abstract:
Due to a tremendous development of renewable energy production based on power electronics, intensive power quality investigations specially regarding harmonic emissions should be carried out. In order to select representative grid connected photovoltaic and wind power plants for further harmonic investigations, the specifications of both grid and generation side should be taken in to consideration. This study aims first to find representative wind and photovoltaic power plants, considering the actual energy production share and market trend of the inverters and their technical specifications. In the second part, relevant grid topologies are studied and sorted according to their voltage levels. The results of this study could help to select representative grid and plant combinations for future evaluations of harmonics.
