Abstract:
In this paper, a novel high-level multi-functional control scheme for multiple service provision with the central battery energy storage system is proposed. The integrated control scheme facilitates the simultaneous primary control reserve and self-sufficiency provision. Further functionalities such as set-points conflict resolution, storage system capacity allocation, state of charge estimation, state of charge balancing control and point of common coupling voltage control are realized. These functionalities operate on a generic battery energy storage system model introduced in this work. The controller performance is verified with an analysis of the simulation test cases.
