Abstract:
Emerging from experimental study of basic properties of the light emission from power semiconductor devices this paper provides possibilities for the utilization of the same. The authors investigate the basic suitability of the parasitic luminescence for the purpose of current sensing. In particular a novel approach for the implementation of a dead time control and a promising conceptual study on luminescence-based current sensing is presented.
