Abstract:
This paper investigates energy optimal motion and rotor flux trajectories for an induction motor drive and how they are influenced by different optimization criteria. Taking into account all relevant drive losses has great influence on optimal acceleration trajectories, which leads to reduced loss energy compared to classic time optimal and energy optimal motion trajectories. The influence of constraints for jerk, acceleration and speed on the optimal trajectories is investigated. The reduced effective motor torque, which comes as a side effect of optimization, can be used to downsize the motor for the given task, further reducing loss energy.
