Optimized PWM algorithms for the overmodulation region are presented and applied in a vector controlled high speed drive, where the pulse ratio is a small number. The optimization is done to minimize the loss-factor, which indicates the harmonic losses of the AC machine. A technique, to express the fundamental current waveform from the measured distorted current, is introduced.
