Abstract:
A novel 15-level power inverter for the generation of variable high frequency output voltages is presented. The system, which can especially be used for the testing of inductive components, is capable to generate output voltage waveforms up to 900 V and a frequency up to 50 kHz at 100 A in continuous and 200 A in pulsed operation. This results in an output apparent power of 40 kVA in continuous and up to 80 kVA in pulsed operation. The setup, control strategy and measurement results are presented.
