Abstract:
In this contribution, we demonstrate a straightforward method to fabricate pre-stressed piezo-buckling actuators with increased working range using the remanent strain of piezo materials. At the example of an active piezoglass-piezo sandwich membrane for adaptive fluid lenses, we show that we can tune this stress using a suitable polarization sequence with partial repolarization before assembly. Additionally, we can achieve a pre-buckled state with the largest possible remanent pre-stress at complete depolarization before assembly.
