Abstract:
The reduction of noise emissions plays an important role to reduce the dynamic load of the surrounding structure or to increase comfort. While passive and semi-active vibration isolation reaches its physical limits, active systems based on hydraulic linear drives could offer a solution for a further reduction of vibration transmission. The powerful and high dynamic servo hydraulic application gives the servo valve as a control member an increasingly important role. This paper exposes the development of a two stage high response electrorheological (ER) servo valve that can be installed in conventional hydraulic circuits. First test results of the static and dynamic behaviour of an entire ER servo valve are presented. It shows that the electrorheological servo valve convinces with a very short response time and a high nominal valve flow at high constant nominal pressure connected to a compact design comparable to conventional servo valves.
