Abstract:
Longer life expectancy of satellite subsystems demands for robust and highly reliable components. Therefore a miniaturized magnetic gear as an integrated part of an actuator driving mechanism is presented. In order to achieve maximum output torque in the given dimensions, the gear box magnetic system is optimized in both, topology and geometry. Due to the magnetic wobbling gearing technology, the gear stage shows extremely smooth and precise transmission accuracy. All gearing components and in particular all bearings have to perform under significantly derated stress levels to act in accordance with the recommendations of the European Cooperation for Space Standardization.
