Abstract:
Due to inconsistent and non-linear nature of wind, the optimal tip speed ratio control based on MPPT technique including optimization and pitch angle control strategy is implemented. The five leg converter topology is proposed to replace the classical six leg converter giving the high end ability of continues power production. To improve the system reliability, affordability, validity, efficiency, continuity and availability in a WECS, the shared leg topology under fault- tolerant mode is implemented. The results are validated by means of simulations in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
