Abstract:
In this paper, we analysed the characteristics of nucleosomes distribution on the different expression patterns and specific functional genes families in the Drosophila embryonic genome. The results suggested that the location of H2A.Z-containing nucleosomes were more conserved than other nucleosomes in the genome, and the stability and integrity of chromatin was determined by monitoring the stablility of nucleosomes. A significant nucleosomal positioning signal has appeared at -1 nucleosome in the non-coding region, which confirms the important regulatory role of the -1 nucleosome within genes. Furthermore, the different gene expression patterns may be closely related to the nucleosomes located upstream of transcriptional initiation site (TSS), e.g. -1 or -2 nucleosomes, which suggested that these nucleosomes were involved to a certain degree in the regulation of gene expression.
