Abstract:
Chua‘s concept of predictive modeling leads to the modeling of complicated devices via interconnected models of fundamental building blocks. This paper proposes a procedure of the synthesis of nonlinear dynamic systems, described by their differential equations of motion, from Chua’s two-terminal higher-order elements. It is also highlighted that in some cases the synthesis is impossible without the use of multi-terminal building blocks. Two examples demonstrating such a synthesis are given, the generalized Van der Pol oscillator and the Hodgkin-Huxley models of potassium and sodium ion-channels as memristive systems.
