Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to demonstrate a practical approach of real-time simulation for the converter dominated distribution grid. This approach suggests, use ePHASORSIM to simulate the large-scale over-layer grid in phasor-domain, and eMEGASIM for underlayer 20kv grid in EMT-based detailed equivalent model. By combining the two models this approach offers a tool to balance the calculation efficiency and simulation accuracy. The improvement on real time performance and system-usage are demonstrated on OPAL-RT.
