Abstract:
In this contribution, a cell culture vessel is presented, that is able to measure the metabolism of various microorganisms (e.g. human cells, bacteria or fungi) by means of a chemical sensor array in the gas phase. The integrated sensor array is based on nanoparticle composites used as sensitive layers in chemiresistors. The sensor materials react very fast to VOC´s and their selectivity can be tuned to the compounds of interest.
