Abstract:
In this paper we present a nonlinear magnetic material model based on the theory of magnetic materials from Jiles and Atherton [1,2,3]. By use of the recently published measurement on the anhysteresis method [4] we can improve the classical Jiles Atherton model. We discuss the theoretical background of the model and show the practical implementation in VHDL-AMS. Known difficulties of the Jiles Atherton model are discussed, e.g. possible unphysical states or the overestimation of losses in deep saturation. Finally we compare the new model with the classical Jiles Atherton model as well as measurement results with special focus on hysteresis loss prediction of the models.
