Abstract:
This paper analyses the improvements in dynamic current sharing of paralleled IGBTs that can be achieved by passive feedbacks. During parallel turn-ON and turn-OFF, various asymmetries can lead to current mismatches. To avoid deratings, those mismatches have to be reduced, and passive measures regarding the gate-drive are a cost-efficient way to do so. However, not every passive measure has a reducing influence on current imbalances of every cause. Therefore, this paper investigates which passive measure can reduce which kind of current mismatch.
