Abstract:
This paper deals with the design of a 3-phase, high frequency series resonant DC-DC converter. If the converter is perfectly balanced, the third harmonic and its multiples are canceled and the input and output current ripples are greatly reduced compared to the single-phase version. The power-density and/or the efficiency are also improved thanks to the size reduction of the transformer. Nevertheless, it is difficult to perfectly tune each resonant branch of the converter. This paper demonstrates that typical deviations in the values of the resonant components can be dealt with.
