Abstract:
Highly resonant wireless power has brought benefits such as spatial freedom and physical isolation. Meanwhile, efficiency remains as a major design challenge. Approaches to improving efficiency have been proposed, however, many have focused on optimization of each functional component in the system. This paper proposes a system based efficiency optimization method where the interaction among all the functional components (amplifiers, rectifiers and coil sets) in the wireless power system are considered together. Design tradeoffs are analyzed, and the steps to optimize each component to maximize system efficiency are given.
