Abstract:
Space Vector Modulation is a popular technique for driving power converters and has attracted significant research interest. In this context, alternative switching sequences may optimize power losses, as well as affecting harmonic content. This paper reviews alternative switching strategies in Space Vector Modulation of Current Source Rectifiers, evaluating their power losses and side effects. Particularly, the paper proposes an adaptive modulation scheme to maximize efficiency while minimizing current distortion. The analysis is supported by experimental measurements on high power double-conversion transformer-based UPS.
