Abstract:
CLLC resonant converters can be applied in bidirectional power conversion applications, such as on-board power supply systems for electric automobile, which demand small volume and high power efficiency. However, the common design approach “First Harmonic Approximation (FHA)” is inaccurate for its design because the converter operates not only at the series resonant frequency of the resonant tank. The operation mode analysis is accurate, but complicated. In this paper, an optimal design methodology based on multiple simulations and FHA is proposed and applied to a bidirectional three-phase CLLC resonant converter (3ph-CLLC).
