Abstract:
The power loss of inductive components consists of winding and core losses. These losses are dependent on current form and frequency. This paper presents a precise simulation approach to determine these winding losses. The basis of this model is the measurement of the frequency-dependent resistance of the winding. This resistance is software-simulated with a special network of passive components. In order to parameterize the real part of these winding loss drivers, an optimization method is used. Finally, the winding losses can be exactly determined by imprinting the real operating conditions into the received network with LTspice.
