Abstract:
Implementation of feedback control system for prototype converters is a time-consuming task that generally requires special-purpose hardware and software to be developed on a per-application basis. This article presents a generalized and flexible embedded control platform, referred to as UAC-106, to simplify and accelerate the design of prototype converters. This platform can operate many power stage topologies, including double-pulse testing (DPT) systems, DC-DC converters, and multi-phase inverters. The system can operate open or closed-loop; can control six switching devices; and uses fiber optic cables to provide isolation for medium voltage systems. This article demonstrates UAC-106 using DPT as an example power stage.
