Abstract:
The following paper considers a modular topology based on series resonant DC-DC converters with clamped tank capacitor voltage. The operation of such resonant converter module is examined. Characteristics of the stage are obtained for operation with anti-emf voltage applied to its output. Further investigation of parallel modules operation is performed. Optimization of the overall system efficiency is obtained by the use of soft-switching inverters and synchronous rectifiers. The analysis results are verified with computer simulations and experimental examinations on a laboratory stand. Design of the converters is proposed considering the topology characteristics. The interaction between the individual modules is discussed.
