Abstract:
Nowadays industrial servo drives usually use motor feedback systems with a digital interface. These interfaces can also be used to read and store motor related data, e.g. a digital nameplate. A new Power Interface Communication (PIC) for sensorless motors enables a digital nameplate without additional wiring between motor and automation drive. As soon as a motor is connected to an automation drive, it automatically configures the appropriate parameters, even if motor and drive are from different ven-dors.
