Abstract:
An experimental network for monitoring of the generated communication (data) traffic from power electronic devices has been studied. The studied power electronic devices are: power distribution unit managed through the Internet and an on - line double conversion UPS managed through the Internet too. The monitored communication parameters are: generated traffic, packet size, used communication protocols and more. Based on the results of the monitoring, mathematical distributions by packet sizes are made, which are used for additional evaluation and analysis of the studied devices. On the basis of the received data, the most suitable communication network for the respective power electronic device can be proposed. Studies has been carried out for the security of the communication link and the data exchange between the tested power electronic devices and the workstation.
