Abstract:
This work describes a measurement method for metrological loss separation of core losses for power electronic magnetization currents. Core losses are the sum of static hysteresis losses and dynamic eddy current losses. With this measuring method it is possible to directly measure the static hysteresis losses. Dynamic magnetization effects can be completely switched off. The measuring method is based on a static magnetization or DC field measurement. So far, only the total core losses or mathematical loss separation have been considered for power electronic magnetizations. Using a 25 cm Epstein frame, the hysteresis losses were investigated for various typical magnetization currents of passive magnetic components in inverter systems.
