              Abstract:
              A novel LED driver for HID applications is proposed in this paper, compatible with both EM-ballast and Direct mains. A bridge integrated shunt switch cascaded boost architecture with system type detection is proposed to achieve a reliable and cost-effective LED driver solution. A waveshape identification method is proposed for accurate and reliable system type detection. Finally, prototype experiments verified the proposed LED driver.
