Abstract:
For traction drives used in hybrid- or all-electric vehicles it is important to provide a demanded torque with high precision and high efficiency. Therefore a motor model based on lookup-tables obtained from measurements is often employed inside the control system of such a drive. The number of measurement points needed for the generation of the tables can be large and the achieved torque accuracy highly depends on the quality of the tables. This paper describes an automated measurement system that can generate lookup-tables with high quality and decrease the measurement time by choosing favorable reference points. The system also ensures that the temperature of the motor winding is kept inside a small window during the measurement process.
