              Abstract:
The new Intel Atom(r) x6000FE is a system on chip (SoC) based on an Intel x64 architecture, which is now also capable to process safety-related motion control applications up to SIL2/PL d Cat. 3. This allows the combination of the proven safety-related fieldbuses respective the digital encoder interfaces, the proven safety-related software development tools from automotive (lockstep CPU) and the open, high-performance industrial PC hardware/software. Applications are e.g. robots, cobots, automated guided vehicle systems, mobile logistics assistants, etc.
