Abstract:
A simple and easy to use measurement method is presented in this paper for toroidal cores. This measurement method consists of two measurements. First a loss-temperature curve needs to be obtained for the toroidal core. With this curve the losses can be measured for any operation of the choke if the right boundary conditions are met. The method is verified through a testing inductor as well as comparison to analytical calculations in a SiC-Inverter application.
