Abstract:
Standard control strategies for active power converters like dq-cascaded control are well known. However, there is a demand for advanced control algorithms to address converters with minor time constants, low fundamental-to-switching time ratios and high dynamic requirements. In this work, a standardized routine with well-defined assessment criteria is introduced to compare a standard dq- control strategy to the advanced pole restraining control approach in a virtual experiment. The presented methods and criteria can be used to assess other converter topologies and applications.
