Abstract:
This paper presents an approach to derive the future energy demand and load profiles of electric trucks on freeways. For this purpose, traffic censuses, freeway infrastructure data and vehicle parameters are used. By taking regional differences into account, both the energy demand and the load profiles can be regionalized, which allows to consider these variables in future grid planning. The method is presented on the basis of the German long-distance truck traffic supplied by overhead contact lines, but can also be transferred to other countries and electric truck technologies as well as electric cars.
