Abstract:
In the context of the German energy transition, the need for power grid reinforcement and expansion is increasing. How-ever, the use of curative measures in a meshed AC HVDC grid can reduce the need for expansion. The curative measures are activated after an AC-side fault by adjusting the operating points of the converters in the HVDC grid to relieve the resulting congestion in the AC grid after a fault. In this work, the stability in the AC grid during and after the application of the curative measures is investigated. For this purpose, dynamic simulation (RMS) is performed in the PowerFactory software.
